Our primary objective was to design a villa complex that would blend naturally into the landscape.
The pronounced slope of the Elounda hillside and the need for a unified architectural identity were the key challenges.

The design needed to achieve:

• full utilisation of the panoramic views,
• privacy between the individual villas,
• natural integration into the terrain,
• operational autonomy for each unit,
• clear access and circulation without disturbing guest areas.

The solution emerged through a terraced configuration that uses the changes in elevation as a fundamental architectural tool.

Composition & Materiality Inspired by Place

Elounda Villas is shaped through clean, contemporary geometries and materials that draw directly from the Cretan landscape:

• locally sourced stone,

• warm, earthy-toned plaster,

• natural wood elements in pergolas and shading structures,

• subtle curved forms that reinterpret the traditional arch in a modern way.

This palette and compositional logic allow the complex to blend effortlessly into its natural context.

Interiors with Earthy Tones and Understated Luxury

The interior spaces were designed to evoke a sense of calmness, natural warmth, and a refined Mediterranean aesthetic.

Key characteristics include:

• warm earthy colour palettes,

• natural-tone wooden flooring and furniture,

• stone and marble detailing,

• large openings that connect the interior and exterior,

• cross-ventilated layouts that draw the view deep into the space,

• serene bedrooms with clean architectural lines,

• bathrooms featuring monolithic slabs and premium finishes.

Together, these elements create an atmosphere of understated luxury and relaxation, aligned with the expectations of today’s discerning traveller.

Functional Organisation for Uninterrupted Views

Access to all villas is arranged from the rear of the complex, ensuring that the front façades remain entirely open to the sweeping view of the Elounda Bay.
Upon entering their private outdoor space, guests experience an immediate and uninterrupted connection with the landscape.
