The Challenge<\/h3><\/div>

On a narrow, seaside plot in Heraklion, our studio was tasked with utilising its unique geometry to achieve a balance between functionality, privacy, and uninterrupted sea views.
Within this context, we designed a tourist complex that unfolds harmoniously along the length of the site, with the building volumes following the natural topography of the terrain. This layout ensures smooth circulation, views from every point, and a strong sense of privacy for guests.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Our Approach<\/h3><\/div>

Strategic Placement & Layout<\/h2>\n

The design is based on a linear organisation of building volumes along the plot.
Starting from the seven private apartments, the composition gradually leads to the shared facilities that culminate by the sea.
The placement was carefully planned to provide smooth access, parking areas, and pedestrian and vehicle circulation, while maintaining uninterrupted views and privacy throughout the site.<\/p>\n

Multi-Level Development<\/h2>\n

The complex unfolds across three distinct levels, following the natural slope of the landscape.
The guest experience begins at the private apartments, each featuring its own pool and protected outdoor garden spaces, enhancing privacy and connection with nature.
The composition then transitions to the reception building and snack bar, before reaching the central pool area, located just a few steps from the beach.
The architectural layout descends gradually from the upper to the lower levels, ensuring continuous sea views and a smooth transition between private and communal spaces.<\/p>\n

Architectural Elements & Materials<\/h2>\n

In the pool and bar area, large metal frames define shaded zones with pergolas and horizontal shading structures running along their length.
Transparent glass surfaces provide protection from the wind while maintaining an open view of the horizon.
The selection of materials and colours integrates the complex naturally into its surroundings, giving it a contemporary yet discreet character that complements the coastal landscape.<\/p>\n<\/div>

The Result<\/h3><\/div>

The architectural study created a small neighbourhood within a narrow site, where visitors discover the various apartments and activity areas as they move gradually toward the sea.
The result achieves a balance between privacy and community, offering a distinct hospitality experience that respects both the topography of the land and the aesthetics of the landscape.<\/p>\n
