This design is about the addition of a residence to an existing two-story building. We designed a new building with an attic, pitched roof, solar panels and underground parking. The building was designed to meet the needs of a separate residence.
The existing building operates on the ground floor as short-term rental apartments with their own private pool in the background, as the residence continues with another pool directly behind, which has plants and fences all around. The aim is, to create areas as distinct as possible on the back, between the permanent residence and the short-term one. The existing building is decorated with wooden blinds in various shapes, in order to make its facade more modern and more interesting.
The element of wood is combined with the solid volumes of the building, achieving the harmonious coexistence of a luxury residence and tourist accommodation with simultaneous functional autonomy of the two uses. We have photovoltaics on the roof of the new building, facing south.
The first floor, due to the owner’s status as a doctor, essentially becomes a clinic, where he welcomes visitors, from the common stairwell separately, without disturbing the other two residential uses.
On the inside, the element of wood and stone is present but in a more modern version. A planted roof is created, which is also a space for leisure, an extra living room. Another area of the building that is utilized.
The element of wood and pergolas is all around the building and the terrace areas, plants and water features coexist.
